Rhino to DesignBuilder (export to dsbXML) Issue

How to have multiple rooms in a single block in DesignBuilder from the Rhino xml export? I saw in the video above that after importing the xml to DB, the block (ex. 01 - Entry Level) has all the rooms/zones inside (ex. 101-Vest, 102-lobby, etc). Thanks!

Hi,

I’m having some difficulty exporting my Rhino model to DesignBuilder using Pollination.

After importing the dsbXML file generated from Rhino via Pollination, all rooms are being imported as separate blocks rather than as a single block per level, which is the outcome I was expecting.

I’m not sure whether this behavior is related to Pollination or DesignBuilder, but I would appreciate any guidance or assistance you can provide.

Thank you for your help.

Kind regards,
Russ

Hi @russrey, if they are on the same level then this is not the expected behavior. Can you share the Rhino model with us?

From your screenshot, it looks like you exported a model to dsbXML without solving adjacency in the Rhino plugin. So each room has to be exported as its own separate block so that it can get outdoor boundary conditions all over its envelope. If I am right, then just run PO_SolveAdjacency and validate before you try to export to dsbXML. Then, you should see that each contiguous volume of rooms joined across shared adjacencies gets exported as a separate block to DesignBuilder.
