3D vs 2D. What is the reason?

I am starting to use pollination again. I am exporting a model. When it is left in 3D, the sloped rooms show up perfectly but I cannot use the script editor.

so I convert to 2D to be able to use the editor but then the rooms are no longer sloped.

What would be the reason? Is this suppose to be the natural behavior?

Hi @rafaelhok,

Try to export them as extruded floors (AKA Room2Ds) and then set the Top Exposed property to True. That will work with the script and gives you the 3D volume with the slanted roofs.

should this be prior to creating the snapshot or at the model editor, ie, convert to 2D rooms?

prior to creating the snapshot with Extruded floors

prior to creating the snapshot with full volume

Here were the steps i just did.

  1. Snapshot created with Full Volume
  2. Convert to room2D in model editor
  3. rename rooms with python script
  4. solve adjacency
  5. import air boundary markers
  6. run air boundary marker script
  7. export .gem for test, so far so good. No sloped rooms yet.
  8. import roof.hbjson
  9. export .gem for test, geometry intersections and external holes now present in IESVE but sloped rooms and air boundaries still good.

so far, only when I import the roof does it create geometry issues in the export to IESVE.
I validate the model editor for IESVE and no issues found.
I run solve adjacency again, and did not fix the issues.

I ran a second test

  1. Convert to room2D
  2. import roof.hbjson
  3. solve adjacency to be able to run air boundaries but did not run air boundary script.
  4. export .gem, and intersection issues are found.

so far it seems that only when i import the roof.hbjson so i have issues with intersections.

Did you select the roofs correctly? Assuming they are coming from a linked model? I suspect the roofs are missing from the model. Otherwise, you should see them in the preview.

Ah! I just read your second comment. Can you share the PoMF and the roof.hbjson with me? You can email it to me, or share it in a private message. I can have a closer look and let you know what might be going on.
