Can Demolition Elements be ignored?

Good afternoon and happy Monday,

I have short question today, but wonder if it’s a simple solution or not…

I have noticed that I have the ability to check two phase boxes in the pollination plug in on Revit; Existing and New Construction.
This is straight forward when I’m in a project with only New Construction or an existing building with no changes to the envelope. However, it seems that when checking both Existing and New Construction, I see glazing and doors that are meant to be on the Demolition phase when we have alterations in envelope.

I understand an element on Demo to be “Phase Created = Existing” and “Phase Demolished = New Construction”

So I wonder if I’m missing something obvious or if the ability to filter out demo phase elements is not yet a feature within pollination.

Looking forward to hearing thoughts on this topic…

Warm Regards, Josiah

Hi @josiahfce,

Thank you, and happy Monday! I will document this for @ksobon and get back to you. We don’t currently have such a feature. We only allow for filtering element based on the phase that they belong to.

Hi @mostapha

I will be eager to see if demo elements are able to be filtered out from selections. In some cases, I download an architect’s source file to modify the model to represent the design envelope only, but otherwise, I have extra elements to pay attention to and remove / redo in my loads software.

Hi @josiahfce,

We just release a new version of the Revit plugin (v2.293.2) which addresses this issue. All the demolition elements are ignored automatically.

I have tested it on a couple of models, and it works as expected. Give it a try and let me know if it works as expected.

If you’re using it on a project with links, you might need to disable the Pollination plugin, and reload the linked files into Pollination Select doors and windows menu to be able to see them.

Hi @mostapha ,

The demo phase issue is resolved.

Thanks!
