I’m working on a project that is a fit-out of just one room. When I imported into Pollination, only one room showed up, which was to be expected, as that is all the architect has modeled out in the model we are working in. However, the internal walls in this room were showing up as external. I understand why this is happening, but is this something I can change in Pollination, or do I need to try to find a workaround in Trane Trace when I import the gbXML? Thanks!
Hi @seanpuskar, welcome to the forum!
You’re correct. Since there are no other rooms, the walls will show up as external.
Are you trying to set the boundary condition to interior so you don’t see any heat transfer from those faces? On solution to address what you need is to define those walls as adiabatic. Since TRACE 3D Plus is based on EnergyPlus they should have this concept.
We currently don’t have it exposed in the current version of Pollination, but this will be available in the next version. Here is how it looks like.
Let me know if you want me to help you with exporting the room for you with adiabatic walls and see how it will show up in TRACE 3DPlus. Since it is only a single room, it is probably easy enough to set them as adiabatic faces there. I found this online:
