This topic applies after the IDM model has been created in the Model Editor.
The exported IDM file contains essentially only geometry. It then needs to be enriched with building physics, weather data, zone templates, air-handling units, and other related information.
Our team uses idm files that function as templates, already containing much of this predefined data.
Currently, our workflow involves opening the template alongside the Pollination-generated IDM file and manually copying the rooms into our “company” template before continuing with the rest of the work.
I would be interested in exploring more efficient solutions to this workflow.
This is an interesting idea, and different from what we have been working on so far. Can you share one of the templates with us? I can see of two possible solutions:
Add an option to use a user-provided template instead of the current default template. This is probably the quicker way to get it to work.
Add the ability to set the templates in the Model Editor based on the information inside an IDM file. This is more in line with our goal to implement the translation of this information from the Model Editor to IDA ICE.
