Conflict with ClimateStudio 2.0 - Revit cannot run the external application "Pollination.Revit"

Hello Pollination Developers,

I am receiving the below error when launching Revit 2024 with Pollination for Revit 2.209.7 installed. I noticed that this error occurs when I have ClimateStudio 2.0.8981 installed. There appears to be a conflict between these two Revit plugins. This is quite problematic though as both are necessary in our building performance workflows.

I see these proceeding discussions but wanted to bring it up in relation to ClimateStudio.

Hi @justinshultz,

Thank you for documenting this. We’re aware of this issue and it’s a hard one to resolve because both plugins are using Eto. Keeping the versions the same has been challenging. If you add RiR to the list then it’s even more challenging.

I talked to Alstan about the issue briefly in the past. Now that the version 2.0 is out, it should be a good time to reach out to him again and see if we can keep the versions in sync. I’ll keep you posted.

We have also started removing the Eto dependency from Pollination altogether. It will take some time for that to happen.

Glad it is a known issue and that you guys are looking into solutions. Please keep me updated on your progress.

Hi @mostapha . Do we have any update to this topic?

@justinshultz, this issue should be fixed in the upcoming release.

Pollination and ClimateStudio are now using the same version of Eto, and with some adjustments, we were able to resolve the issue. Here is a screenshot of the working version.

@mostapha wonderful news! Thank you for the quick turnaround. Can you clarify when the upcoming release will be live for download?

Hi @asisnath and @justinshultz. I just created a new patch release (v2.162.3) that includes this fix. Give it a try and let me know how it goes.

Thanks @mostapha . It works now. Thanks for this important solution. But one thing i noticed that Pollination is not working under RIR and even CS is also not working any more (It was working earlier in RIR)

Lastly If I open RIR once and go back to Revit and click on any tab of pollination, Revit pollination doesn’t respond (no pollination tab opens)
Note - This only happens if I click on any environmental analysis subtab inside RIR and then on Revit side I click on Pollination tabs. Unless I click on Env analysis tabs in RIR Pollination Revit works correctly

Hi @asisnath,

You should create a new topic for this. This one is about the conflict with ClimateStudio 2.0 which seems to have been resolved.

As I mentioned here there are still issues with loading Pollination in RiR but it is not a top priority. For now, we just want to make sure the users will be able to use ClimateStudio, Pollination, and RiR.
