How to export roof overhangs?

Hi pollination team, I have a Revit 2024 model with overhanging and slanted roofs. My problem is that the exported BIM/GEM file for IES does not contain the roof, even though the Model Editor shows the roof as dashed lines (but it doesn’t show up in 3D view in the Model Editor either). All rooms are checked as “ground contact” and “top exposed.” Below are images of the slanted, overhanging roofs. It’s a one story building:

Any ideas for how to get the roof into the exported model?

P.S.
I am a new Model Editor and Pollination user. Your software solutions seem extremely useful. I’d love to receive support to make full use of your software. I have more questions, but I’ll post them separately.
Thank you! <3

as a new discourse user, I don’t have permission to share more than one media item at a time (may I feature request a change here :-)) - anyway this is what it looks like in the model editor

and in IES

Hi @alterleon,

Good timing! The upcoming version of the Model Editor adds a new functionality to split the roofs and convert them to shades. I’ve to wait a bit longer before I can release the new version publicly but if you share the snapshot with me, I can make those changes for you and send it back to you. You can send the snapshot to me in a private message.

For your reference, and the next upcoming projects, here is a quick video that shows the process.

Let me know how you would like to proceed.

Hi @mostapha - thank you for the offer to export the shades for me. I’ve been trying to find the private message button. I retrieved your email on the internet. I hope it goes through.

Thank you so much!!!
