Import to IES Failing

Hi,

The GEM file i am exporting is failing to import/load into IESVE. Anybody able to assist with this?

That’s strange. Did you validate the model? What’s the error message? Can you share the PoMF and the GEM file with us?

Thank you for sharing the models. The GEM file is empty and that’s why you get an error. The PoMF is also an empty mode.

If I have to guess from the file name you are trying to only export the roofs from Pollination to IESVE. In that case the export won’t work. To be able to export the roofs to IESVE, you either need to also include the rooms in the model so the roofs can be part of the rooms, or you need to convert the roofs to shade and export them to IESVE as shade elements. There is no concept of standalone roofs without rooms in IESVE.

If you can provide me a PoMF that include the geometry, I should be able to help.

Hi Mostapha, I think Jude exported only the shades in Pollination. No rooms. He’s going to make another .pomf file of the same shades, but also includes a couple rooms to see if that works better.

Thanks. In that case my guess is that the roofs haven’t been converted to shade before exporting them. That’s why they didn’t show up in the export. Let me know how it goes.
