Integrating CFD results into UTCI calculation

Good afternoon (lady)bugers

I was not sure which of the numerous UTCI with wind speed posts to hijack, so I went with the latest one.

I have been doing a lot of tests on this lately and I have a problem getting the CFD results to be accounted for in my “HB UTCI COMFORT” and relevant Pollination recipe.

The same seems to run fine in the “LB UTCI COMFORT” component, but obviously that can be very computational intensive when looking at many points, and of course does not account for the surface temperatures as the HB version does.

I doubt I am doing something wrong in the process, but I am happy to be proven wrong. Can someone please confirm that their CFD results are actually going into the HB UTCI COMFORT recipe as expeced?

Just to narrow down errors, the log shows that air-matrices are copied in the simulation folder as you can see in the screenshot, and hopefully they are built with the correct format (rows for grid point and columns for simulation step). In any case I don’t get errors while running any of the recipes. If my .csv is not built correctly it throws errors, which gives me the impression that it does go into the simulation, but somehow not accounted for in the UTCI calculation?

Hi @byron, what version of the recipe are you using? I know that there was a bug in version 0.9.13 that was pointing to the wrong folder. This has been fixed in version 0.9.15.

HI @mostapha, sorry I only just had the time to test this again.
I tried using the 0.9.15 version, but this seems to fail when introducing wind_matrices with the error log below.

(working fine without the CFD result .csv files)

from what I can tell, the logs.log points to the correct location of the copied .csv matrices.

Hi @byron,

Can you share the model and the matrices either here or in a PM?

Good afernoon,

just wanted to confirm that I finally had success with both HB and Pollination recipes for UTCI Comfort Map, taking into account the wind matrices.

Special thanks to @mikkel for the the detailed help and for resolving the issue.
