Misalignment of room lines and grey backdrop in the model editor

Hi community,
I have trouble with the visualization of my revit-exported snapshot in the model editor. The red room lines are not aligned with the grey 2D rendering that is usually a backdrop for the rooms. I tried to re-export the snapshot but the problems is persistent. I have no shades exported.
This seems to be a bug.

The visual 3D rendering shows me a great-looking model. But I am uncertain if this misalignment will create problems down the line, so I stopped editing it.

Strangely, I didn’t notice this problem last week. But now, I can’t find a way to resolve it. Any ideas?

Hi @alterleon,

This is a bug that was introduced in the technology that we use to build the Model Editor. Someone reported it during the weekend:

A couple of users also reported it to us today, and we tried to push a fix which did fix the issue. Now that you reported this, I did another check, and I can see that I get the same error. Let me revert the change on my end and see how it affects the problem.

FYI, and as you can see in the link that I shared above this is only a visualization issue. Your geometry is still correct.

Hi again, @alterleon,

I tried several approaches, but I wasn’t able to fix the issue. I emailed the tldraw team and also documented the issue for @antonellodinunzio.

Since this issue is limited to Chromium-based browsers, our backup plan is to expose the import functionality in the browser so you can open the Model Editor inside Firefox and edit your models.

I know this bug make the Mode Edito almost useless, and I wish I could come up with a fix, but we will need some help from the tldraw team to fix this one. I’m really sorry! I’ll try one more idea but it’s unlikely that I can fix it tonight. :expressionless:

Hi Antonello. Let’s see if the tldraw team can help with this. Otherwise, we should expose the option to open the files in the browser so people can export their models as DFJSON and edit it in Firefox until this issue is fixed. Thanks.

@alterleon, this should be fixed now. Can you try to right-click on the top band and select refresh? Or simply press Ctrl+R to reload the Model Editor?

Let us know how it goes.

hi @mostapha,
this is fixed now! I didn’t have to do reload anything. Seems to work fine.
Thank you so much for the speedy recovery. I hope you didn’t have stay up all night to fix this.
