Pollination Phases Don't Match Renamed Revit Phases

The Phase selection box in Create Rooms doesn’t update after existing phase names have been changed. Rooms/Spaces/Areas created on a phase whose name has been edited then don’t appear in steps 2 or 3 of the workflow. I have a screen recording of this but can’t upload due to being a new user.

Hi @mdouglass,

That’s very probable because I don’t think we keep track of someone changing the name of the phase. We didn’t consider this to be a common practice.

Does closing the create room menu and opening it back up fix the issue?

It does not. The only solution I have is to revert the phase name back to what Pollination expects to see. Here’s a video showing the problem.

Thank you for the recording! I suspect this is happening because we cache the phase names to improve the performance.

If changing the phase name is critical, there is a nuclear option to reset everything by disabling and enabling the plugin. You will lose all the Pollination properties such as program types, and extrusion height but they don’t seem to be important in your case. I did a quick test and it seems to be working (except for the name in the dropdown which is not critical.).

Enabling and disabling worked for me as well. Thanks!

What I didn’t try though was closing the model or restarting Revit. Does Pollination only cache the phase names once? Or would caching happen again upon Revit startup or model opening?

@ksobon will correct me if I’m wrong but my understanding is that the plugin caches the phase names once and saves it in the Revit file. The next time the Revit file is opened it reads them from the cached information.

Generally speaking, I believe any solution that needs restarting Revit is highly undesirable. For some of the large models, it can take several minutes for Revit to load the model. It might also be me being too impatient.
