When using remove short segments on this space to fill in the column area, it also removes the short segments for the external curved edge. Is there a better way to remove this column void without compromising my curved edge segments?
I guess I could go back and turn off room bounding for the concrete columns and make a new snapshot.
It was great to meet you in person at SimBuild! And thank you for keeping the comments coming!
Are these columns fully bounded inside the space? In that case, try using the Remove small holes instead.
If the columns are on the edge, and you can’t use the align command because the edge is not a straight line, we should think of a better solution to help you with this case. Can you share a screenshot of the problematic area?
That will help us better understand the case and come up with a strategy. I’m adding @chriswmackey here so he is aware of the conversation.
Thank you for sharing the picture. Here is how I would fix it by using the Create Boundary feature.
It feels like we should extend this command to automatically insert the rooms. I suggested doing it in two steps to give the user a chance to review the polylines but there are cases like this one where review is unnecessary.
I tried to cover most of the cases in the getting started video, but obviously there will be an on-going effort to cover more cases as we learn about them, like this one.
Let us know if you find any other case that is not straightforward. Our approach is that we should have an easy solution to fix all the common issues in the energy models. If there is not an existing solution, then we will add one!
