Revit Plugin freezes Revit 2024.4 when RIR opened

Hi all. I updated to the latest Rhino 8.17 and the Pollination Plugin today. But when I am trying to Open Rhino Inside Revit , Revit crashes (when other Revit plugins are active ) and Revit screen Freezes ( when other revit plugins are disabled). Kindly assist in solving this issue. I also tried with Rhino Sr 18 (Service release candidate version) but it still crashes.

Hi @asisnath, is your case similar to this one?

No, that issue is not happening with my system and its related to grasshopper only. This issue is with Revit pollination plugin and RIR.

Hi @mingbo @mostapha . I got a walk around for this issue at mcneel forum. Here is the link Rhino 8.17 crash revit 2025.4 version - #7 by tay.othman - Revit - McNeel Forum

Thank you, @asisnath. The Eto dependency has been an on-going issue. Even if we update the dependency version, it will cause a conflict with ClimateStudio, and possibly other libraries. It looks like the manual fix that you found is the easiest way to fix the issue for now.

@mingbo, can you think of a better solution?

Hi, Do we have any update to this, updating to new version seems repeating the walkaround method always to make Rhino.Inside work?

Hi @asisnath,

No. Unfortunately, this is not currently on top of our list for two reasons:

  1. Not many of our active users use Rhino.Inside.
  2. It is not a trivial task to address. Not only do we have to coordinate with RiR dependencies, but we also need to coordinate between Pollination Rhino, Pollination Revit.

I know it is a pain to use the workarounds, and I apologize, but we won’t have a good solution for this until we remove the Eto dependency. At that point, we can revisit this issue.
