This might be an odd request, but would it be possible to use filled regions to create geometry (similar to areas as you currently have)? This is because we are using filled regions in our workflow similar to spaces but without them being tied to Arch rooms.
Interesting request! What is the advantage of using field regions over using areas?
From what I can see, the FilledRegion object has a GetBoundaries method which should make it possible to use them for creating room in Extruded mode.
But it would be great to understand why you’re using this approach before introducing a new source of geometry in addition to rooms, spaces, and areas.
Partly it had to do with the fact that Architects do use the Area object more commonly. However, we will evaluate in the future if using the Areas makes more sense for the workflow. But at the moment we do have some projects with Filled Regions.
After review, the areas do seem to suffer from some reliance on walls, while filled regions are a bit more floating and less subject to architect changes.
