Hi everyone,
I am a PhD student working on integrating immersive environments with building performance simulation in architectural design.
Based on recent literature, particularly a systematic review on daylight simulation and visualisation accuracy, it is highlighted that visualisation outputs are generally less accepted compared to numerical simulation results due to the challenges in validation.
Given this, I would really appreciate your expert insights:
In your experience, which domain is more straightforward in terms of reliable numerical modelling and output generation:
- Energy (HVAC)
- Daylighting
- Thermal comfort
And which of these domains provides a clearer or more defensible link between numerical results and visualisation (especially in immersive/VR contexts)?
My goal is to identify a research direction where both numerical robustness and visual interpretation can be effectively integrated.
Thank you very much for your time and insights.
