Windows and Doors not showing in 'Select Windows and Doors' Tab

Hi,

We are currently trying to export our first geometry using pollination.

We recieved an IFC model which we then linked into Revit creating a Revit model (2025). The model contains multiple buildings.

We then opened that Revit model and tried running pollination. We started with the first step of selecting windows and doors and nothing shows. We checked the 3D model and clicked on the doors and windows and the windows are noted as windows and the doors as a generic family so we know its there.

We deleted all except one building and purged the model, nothing changed.

We cant change the categories of families because it doesnt see it as a Revit family.

We tried to use the ArchiCAD IFC Exchange and this crashes the Revit model.

We would greatly appreciate your help.

Hi @samwilliams,

Welcome to the forum. Pollination filters door and windows based on the family type category. What you see is the expected behavior.

I’m not an expert on the topic but there are several online discussions about fixing the process for importing IFC models to Revit including this one.

Maybe @nitro74 can share some of the tricks that he has been using to import the IFC models to Revit successfully.
