Wouldn't it be nice if i could turn a shade into a roof?

I’ve had this need many times now. I know that shades can be complex shapes and roofs cannot. But if I could still turn flat shades into roofs, it would be very helpful because Revit doesn’t always export roofs correctly and if i don’t have a Revit license there is no way for me to really create a roof (because I can’t just draw roof in Model Editor).

(from a user perspective it is kind of confusing and also dangerous that i can turn a roof into a shade but can never revert that change…)

Let me know what you think!
As always, thanks!

P.S. I DO see that I can potentially import an .hbjson shade as a roof. and i think it’s working now (the rooms are jumping up to the room). And there are roof showing in the roof dialogue. Sooo, in theory you already know how to convert but there is no GUI button to convert…?

Hi @alterleon,

Agreed! We have already implemented the command, and it will be available in the next release.

Great suggestion as always!
