The first floor rooms that don’t have a room above have directly the roof as a ceiling.
So every room top has a curved roof.
When in the roof export tool, I can see that roof is composed of a mesh of gazilions of little triangles.
I suspect that a direct exporting might not be a bright idea…
What do you recommend to do in this case?
I am test Pollination on this bulding has i would be an excellent demonstration of the geometry exportation.
I try to export from Revit 2006 for eQuest.
In Pollination classic there is not much that you could do for a roof like this within the Revit plugin. The way I have dealt with similar projects in the past has been to export the roof as shade, save it as HBJSON, open and simplify it in Rhino, save it back as an HBJSON, and use the import roof feature to import the simplified roof into the Model Editor.
In the new version of Revit, which I should be able to release publicly by Monday, we have a new parameter for Mesh Detail that can help with ensuring you start with a simplified version of the roof by setting it to a low value. Preferably, 0. Here is a screenshot of the settings.
If you can share the model with me, I would be happy to record a video and show you how it works. Depending one how Revit simplification algorithm works you might still need to take the roof to Rhino for some simplification. It is hard to tell without trying it on the model.
