Hello everyone,
As you might remember we announced our intention to change our domains from .cloud
to .solutions
in late September. You can read more about it here.
As you might have noticed by the change in the Discourse domain, we have already started the process. This post is an update on what we have done so far, what comes next, and what you need to do.
What has already changed
We have already changed the domains for Discourse, Docs, and the Pollination website to .solutions
. If you try to use the older *.pollination.cloud
domains you will be redirected to *.pollination.solutions
domains automatically.
As for the rest of the domains, we currently are running both of them in parallel. For example, you can access Pollination using app.pollination.cloud
or app.pollination.solutions
.
We realized the redirect wouldn’t work for authenticating from inside Rhino and Revit plugins. That means we had to update all the calls from inside the CAD plugins and the websites to use the .solutions
endpoints first. This change has been implemented, and if you are using a newer version of the Rhino and Revit plugins that were released this month you are using the .solutions
domains already.
What will change next
We will transfer the the rest of our domains including https://app.pollination.cloud
and https://api.pollination.cloud
to https://app.pollination.solutions
and https://api.pollination.soutions
.
This will be a breaking change, and you won’t be able to log into your account from Rhino and Revit plugins unless you install a newer version of the plugins.
What do you need to do
To avoid issues, download and install one of the newer versions of the Pollination Rhino and Revit plugins by the end of this year (2024).
When the next change will happen
We will make the change at some point in January 2025. This should give you enough time to download and install a newer version of the plugins but let us know if you need more time for your IT to download and install the newer version of the plugins.
One more thing
As part of the process, we redesigned the Pollination website from scratch. If you haven’t visited the website recently then you should:
If you prefer listening to content instead of reading, you can listen to this ~11-minute Podcast that is generated by Google’s NotebookLM based on the website content.
As always, feel free to let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Happy Friday!
